In 1968 there was only two cars that we youngsters wanted. A Camaro or a Mustang. Well in 1968, Richard Ochoa didn’t get one, but his dad did. He bought it band new from Clippinger Chevrolet in Covina. It was yellow and a daily driver. It was several years before Richard and his wife Clara got it from his dad and he still didn’t get to drive it much. So, in 1985, he fixed it up and let his boys drive it through high school. As happens so many times, that did not last. Seems his son got three tickets in one night. He took the car and the son’s license. Now he got to drive it. In 2000, he rebuilt it into the beauty it is today and with its 750 carb, bored out cylinders, and headers, it gets it on. Richard and Clara have been to lots of shows including Santa Anita, Del Mar, Cool Cruise, San Dimas, and several local events. Nice ride to represent CAL-RODS for August 2016 and for many more years.
