CAL-RODS FEATURED CAR FOR AUGUST 2024
Written by Terry Lowe
OWNER: VIC CUNNYNGHAM 1932 FORD ROADSTER COLOR: BLACK WITH FLAMES UPHOLSTERY: RED LEATHER ENGINE: FORD FLATHEAD TRANS: 3 SPEED STICK If you look up HOT ROD in any dictionary, you will find a picture of a 1932 Ford roadster, black with flames, red leather tuck and roll interior and a Ford Flathead mill. That describes Vic Cunnyngham's car to a tee. This car is a show winner, not only on the local scene, but on the National level, having won at the Grand National Roadster Show. Vic developed many parts for this build and then sold them through his company Grandpa’s Hot Rod Co. which he eventually sold after his unfortunate accident at the GNRS. Vic was run over by a car being brought into the showroom to be displayed at the GNRS. Vic’s roadster has a highly detailed Ford Flathead engine with 3 deuce setup and just enough chrome to set it apart. The interior is red leather tuck and roll which blends in with the black exterior. The flame paint job finishes off the looks perfectly. To further boost the appeal of Vic’s roadster, a 1/43 scale metal model of this car was built by the Acme model car company. Now just how cool is that? |
