CAL-RODS FEATURED CAR FOR AUGUST 2025

Vic Cunnyngham - 1932 Ford T-Bucket

This month’s spotlight falls on a car that’s as bold as its flames and as storied as its owner — Vic Cunnyngham’s striking 1923 Ford T-Bucket.

With a maroon exterior lit up by yellow flames, this classic hot rod doesn’t just turn heads — it snaps necks. The aggressive look is matched by serious performance under the hood: a Chevy 350 engine that’s balanced and ported, topped with a roaring 671 BDS blower. It’s mated to a Turbo 350 transmission packed with heavy-duty clutches and a 2200 RPM stall converter, all feeding into a Chrysler 4.11 posi rear end. On the rear, Vic rides on massive Weld 15x15 wheels wrapped in Micky Thompson 33x15 LT tires — a combo that screams street power.

Inside, the T-Bucket keeps things classic and clean with a black leather interior. This isn't just a showpiece — it's a fire-breathing, tire-shredding tribute to true hot rod heritage.

Vic originally spotted the T-Bucket sitting in a friend’s garage and recognized it instantly — not because he had owned it before, but because he knew the original builder. That personal connection led him to buy the car, and for the past five years (on and off), he's enjoyed taking it to local shows and events. It even took home First Place at the Grand National Truck Show, a testament to its craftsmanship and raw appeal.

But the story doesn’t end there. In a twist that only adds to this car's legend, Vic eventually tracked down the original builder and sold the car back to him — for a loss. As fate would have it, the car found its way back to Vic once again. Now, older and perhaps a little wiser, Vic admits that this wild ride might finally be too wild for him. The car is currently up for sale, looking for a new home with someone brave enough to take the wheel.

Vic also owns a ’32 Ford Roadster, proving his passion for classic American iron runs deep. But there’s no denying that this T-Bucket holds a special place in his garage — and in his heart.

If you’re lucky enough to catch this beast at a local show, stop by and talk to Vic. He’s got stories — and if you’ve got the guts, maybe even a car to sell you.
