February brings us Valentine’s Day and the 1954 Buick Century sweetheart ride of Bill and Sandy Seiber. The Buick was the very first featured car we ever did and was done in a one day hurry and the coverage was not the best. I have been telling Bill for a long time I was going to redo it someday to get some more pictures and today is the day.
Bill bought the car from CAL-RODS member Sam Browne in 2006. Since that time, he has added Vintage Air, high torque starter, and components to dress up the engine.
One of the amazing things about this car is at every car show someone will come up to Bill and start talking about the one their dad, uncle, granddad or someone else who had a Buick. There is always someone who will proclaim that the Century is supposed to have four portholes and Bill will have to tell them, “No, only three holes because the 1954 Century was the first year and it was built with the Special body on the Roadmaster under carriage”.
Bill does drive the Buick and has traveled to quite a few out of town car shows such as: Pinetop, Arizona, Solvang, Santa Barbara, Dana Point, Palm Springs, Seal Beach, and Big Bear. The Buick is always well received and Bill has quite a collection of trophies. The car is a fine compliment to the cars of CAL-RODS.
