January’s featured CAL-RODS member's car is the beautiful flamed 1934 Chevy of Ron and Tamara Merry. Ron has had the car for 10 years. He was looking for a 40 Ford when he ran into this car out in Yucaipa. He liked it so much it went home with him. He has taken it to many car shows both far and near. It’s not a trailer queen; he drives it wherever he goes. I was with Ron on one trip to Pinetop Arizona where he ended up talking to his insurance company after the local road department decided to put some road stripes on his beautiful paint job. Ron wasn’t too upset, and the insurance company took care of the repaint. He still enjoys driving to the shows although he does watch out for striping machines a little more than he did. The car was put together really well, has all tip notch components throughout, and is a real pleasure to see. Ron has collected several trophies with the Chevy and looks forward to more.
