Finishing off the Christmas holidays and beginning the New Year 2023, we feature the outstanding 1950 Oldsmobile Rocket 88 of Larry and Georgiann Kostka.

Larry bought this car from EBAY online in 2010. It was first sold in Michigan. It went to a farm family where they only drove it in the summer and always kept it in a warm dry barn and took very good care of it. It was later sold to a broker who sold it to Larry on EBAY.

Larry was first impressed by the Oldsmobile while riding in his uncle Stan’s Oldsmobile with his dad in Chicago. It was about 1949 or 1950; as they were driving along with Larry in the back seat with his arms on the top of the front seat, Larry’s dad says to Stan “let’s see what it will do”. Well, it took off, throwing Larry to the back seat. That’s all it took; Larry was impressed and an Oldsmobile lover for life.

Larry and Georgiann have shown the completely stock and original {except for one engine rebuild} Oldsmobile at Via Verde, San Dimas, Legends, Santa Anita, Orange County all stock show, and many more.  They have lots of trophies to show for their efforts. Once again, we’re glad the Oldsmobile, Larry, and Georgiann are with us at CAL-RODS.
