Renee’s husband Simon bought the car from his Godfather about 35 or 45 years ago for around $50. Over the next 30 plus years, this truck has gone through numerous changes, including 3 different engines, 2 paint jobs, and 3 or 4 seat configurations, and a conversion to the 700 R transmission. The interior is black with bucket seats, center console, full instrument panel and billet steering wheel. Simon built the truck for himself but gave it to Renee so that he could get his 34 Coupe. When Renee acquired the truck, the competition began, with Renee totaling 33 awards and trophies while Simon has 16 so far. It’s all in good fun; as Renee says, it's a compliment to his work on the truck. The truck is used mostly for car shows and weekend fun and an occasional cruise This is the nicest 53 Chevy Stake bed truck you will ever see, so the next time you see it at a show, stop by and say hello to Renee. |
