The dark cherry paint with pearl is highlighted with subtle pin-stripping. All the right parts were included to make it stand out in a crowd at the car shows. The 36 is all steel, even the wood interior frame was replaced with steel. The windshield was replaced with a one piece unit as were the side glass. The rain drip rails were removed as were the door handles. The head lights were mounted lower on the radiator cowling to give the illusion of the car being chopped and channeled. The underside of the car has received the same treatment as the upper half. The frame has been powder coated and Art Morrison frame rails installed along with a Heidts Mustang II front end with power rack and pinion steering along with power disc brakes. A complete Curry 9 inch posi with 373 gears rear axle and 4 link suspension rounds out the drive train. Powering the car is a 383 stroker Chevy engine with Dart heads and the right amount of chrome. The transmission is a Chevy TH350 with a 2500 stall converter and a Gear Vendor over under drive. The interior has been done in burgundy leather covering a glide bench seat. Air conditioning and power windows make for a comfortable ride while cruising. The trunk is fully upholstered to match the rest of the interior. The car is bagged and has 15-inch x 7-inch American Torque Thrust wheels in front, and 15-inch x 8 1/2 inch in the rear. John's car has been mini tubbed to allow the car to be dropped to the ground. As you a can see John has a very unique ride that is certainly a showstopper and is an excellent addition to his growing stable of cars. Stop by TO say hello to John at the next car show you attend; more than likely he’ll be there. |
