CAL-RODS FEATURED CAR FOR MARCH 2023
Written by Ron Merry
Owners: DENIS & GAIL PROSENKO Year: 1964 Make & Model: Chevrolet Impala Color: Dark Blue Upholstery Dark Blue Vinyl (original color) Engine: 350 Chevrolet Transmission: 350 TH Rear End: Stock Wheels: Billet Specialties – 22 x 10 ½ “rear; 20 x 8 ½ “front Suspension: Air Bags on all 4 wheels I am sure you all know Denis’ great looking ’32 coup. Well, he decided to supersize to the Chevy and boy, does he have a lot more room. The Chevy Impala was introduced in 1958, as a top-of-the-line offering. The ’58 was much lower, longer and wider than its predecessors with a heavier “x” frame. The ’64 was the third generation of the new concept. Denis purchased this ’64 Impala in September 2022. Although this car looks great the way he purchased it, there were things that needed to be done to personalize the car and make it more to his liking. Denis is adding a polished intake manifold to finish dressing up the engine compartment and upholster the trunk to match the other upholstery. Other features of the car include vintage air, power steering, headers and custom exhaust. The next time you see Denis’ Impala, take a look at the license plate. It is “ADA2UDE.” This is a Denis creation with help from Daughter Sarah. I am not sure who or what this is referring to, but Denis always seems to have a good attitude and the car definitely has a “class” attitude. Although I am partial to Denis’ previous car, the ’32 coupe, this car is a great looking replacement and a definite show stopper. In the short time Denis has had the Impala, he has taken it to car shows in La Verne and Covina. The Impala is another outstanding car in the CAL-RODS stable of great looking cars. |
