Mark Bower owns this beautiful 1939 Chevy Master Deluxe 2 door. Mark has had the car for more than 20 years, and it is a staple at most local car shows. The 39 is a replica of Mark’s high school car and was built by Mark with help from his son Kevin, who made the custom dash insert.

On February 9th, 2024, Mark decided to take his car to the Dr. George car show in Indian Wells, California, about 140 miles from his home. However, on the trip out to Indian Wells, he ran over something in the middle of the freeway and broke his steering, which is pretty important at 60 MPH. Mark lost control of the car and hit a guardrail. The car was damaged quite a bit, including the hood, front bumper, front left fender, grill and front left tire. However, just like the Mythical Phoenix, Mark’s car will rise again as he has scraped together all necessary parts to rebuild, and the car is in the body shop now.

Here’s to Mark! We hope his car will be at a car show soon.
