CAL-RODS FEATURED CAR FOR MARCH 2026
Written by Sheree Driscoll
OWNER: CARLOS SACCHETTO MARCH 2026 - CAR OF THE MONTH STORY – 1963 FORD FALCON Carlos Sacchetto’s 1963 blue Ford Falcon is more than a classic ride—it's a family companion with a history as vibrant as its shining blue paint. Equipped with a 289 engine, C4 automatic transmission, 8inch rear axle, and custom American wheels, this Falcon blends vintage charm with dependable performance. Its blue vinyl interior compliments the exterior perfectly, creating a cohesive look that captures the spirit of earlysixties Ford styling. Carlos discovered the car back in 2007 at the Pomona Swap Meet, where its potential spoke to him immediately. Since then, the Falcon has enjoyed a life filled with movement and memories. On weekends, it becomes a source of pure cruising fun; on special occasions, it rolls with pride through parades and weddings. Carlos even uses it for one of the most meaningful errands of all—picking up the grandkids from school, making him the coolest grandparent in the pickup lane. Among Carlos’ classic car collection is also a 1947 Ford convertible, but the Falcon has carved out its own special place. The farthest Carlos has taken it is San Diego for the Good Guys Car Show, a trip that proved the car is every bit as reliable as it is charming. One of the Falcon’s most memorable chapters began when it had been sitting in storage for three years. Carlos’ future daughterinlaw asked if he had a car she and his son could use for their wedding. Without hesitation, Carlos sprang into action, pouring three months of dedicated restoration work into the car to make sure it was ready for their big day. The Falcon not only made it to the ceremony—it helped make the day unforgettable. |
