The Plymouth Prowler was made in 1997 and 1999 to 2001 and the Chrysler Prowler in 2001 and 2002. It was a special program given to the engineers to build whatever they wanted in a hot rod or sportster type vehicle. An early influence is credited to a Chrysler sponsored project at the “Art Center College of Design in Pasadena”. This resulted in a thesis by Douglas “Chip” Foose, which included drawings of a retro-roadster and led to the design of the prowler.

Ernie bought his 2001 new from Bud’s Chrysler in Celina, Ohio, and was and still, is the only owner. He has been to many shows and won many awards. Some of the shows include Santa Anita, Quartzite Arizona Prowler Show, San Diego Prowler Show, La Verne Cool Cruise, Dr. George Palm Springs, Veterans Show Redlands, and many local shows. It's great having Ernie and the Prowler as part of the CAL-RODS family.
