This car was sitting in the back yard of Aldo’s brother-in-law for some 15 years. One day Aldo asked, “What are you going to do with this car?” His brother-in-law told him he had no plans for it. They talked back and forth, ending up with Aldo buying the car for $500.00. After that, after 9 years, and after $40,000.00, there sits the beauty as it is today. One of the first things he did, when he got the car was take it to a friend of his who was the auto shop teacher at Shurr High School in Montebello. His friend and his class rebuilt the nail head engine and Dynaflow transmission along with other things to get the car running. After he had a running car, Aldo took it from there, day by day, bit by bit, project by project, dollar by dollar and he was rewarded with what you see today. Next time you see Aldo, take a close look at his car. It is really nice. He has taken it to Thunderfest in Covina, Corn Feed Run in Chino, Cal-Rods, the Run With A Winner show at Santa Anita, many of local shows, and he plans for more in the future. Thanks for sharing your story, Aldo. This is a fine representation of the cars in CAL-RODS. |
